Day 1: Aglag Buteel Monastery and Erdenet city
Pick up from your hotel and leave Ulaanbaatar in northerly direction for the Aglag Buteel Monastery and Erdenet city. This is the home of Purevbat Lama, one of the most influential figures in modern Mongolian Buddhism. Set up on a hill, you can hike up to the temple and then follow the path though the forests. Erdenet, situated in a valley between the Selenge and Orkhon rivers, is the third-largest city of Mongolia although it was founded as late as 1974. It owes its existence to the discovery of large deposits of copper in the 1950s. Just outside of the city operates the fourth largest copper mine in the world. Stay overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 2: Uushig Uvur via Murun city and Khuvsgul Lake
Today we will drive to Uushgiin Uvur, which is is situated on southeastern sunny side of Rocky Mount Uushig 17km west from Murun, Huvsgul Aimag. This complex site is considered as the largest with its number of statues and plays an important role in research of tomb and the deer stone culture. These deer stones were aligned from north to south in a single column. Each stone is 3-20m distant from each other and was made of tetrahedral granite stone in reddish color. A deer, an arch, a shield, a horse, a knife, the moon, the sun and a mirror figured belt were engraved on the stones. These oblong-shaped stone monuments are 1,5-4,8m high, 0,4-1m wide and 20-50m thick. Total of 109 deer figures as well as some human figures were carved on 14 stones. Stay overnight in a ger camp. Day 3: Khuvsgul Lake
The Khuvsgul Lake located in the northwest of Mongolia near the border to Russia. It is about 1100m above the sea level, 136 km long and 262 m deep. It is the second most freshwater lake in Asia. The shoreline is spectacular, with forested hills coming straight down into the blue lake. We will hike up the hills and over to Somo Had, a sacred point of rocks jutting into the lake. It is worshipped by the locals, who travel there and other offerings. We will hike through the forest for a few kilometers until we reach the steppe, where several nomadic families live and where we will have a visit with these hardy people. Day 4: Uran Togoo
After having breakfast, we will drive to the mountain called Uran Togoo which is an extinct volcano which is another attractive destination of Northern Mongolia which located about 60km from Bulgan city. Continue to Moilt Mountain in Hanui, Balig River basin and hike around the area. Stay overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Amarbayasgalant Monastery
Drive to Amarbayasgalant monastery. The Amarbayasgalant is one the largest monasteries, too, and it also considered architecturally the most beautiful. The style is generally Chinese, with Mongolian and Tibetan influences. The place is symmetrical and the main buildings follow each other along a North-South axis; the other buildings are located on parallel lateral axis. Unfortunately, some buildings were damaged during the religious purges of the 1930s and 10 of the 37 temples were destroyed. Today you can see 28 constructions, notably a two-storied temple covering an area of 32 square meters (344 square feet) and open for the ceremonies. This remarkable 300-years old construction proudly stands. Stay overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)
